Sandra got into mountain biking when she spent a year in Ottawa as a co-op student during University. She fell in love with Gatineau Park and returned after her studies to work as a high-school teacher and decided to stay! That year she started the MTB Chicks, Ottawa-Gatineau’s Women’s MTB group. She has biked all over the world, including North America, New Zealand and Nepal. Teaching and mountain bikes are her two biggest passions and she is super-stoked to bring both together and help other riders to grow their skills and become great riders.
Josée is a passionate multi-sport athlete and fitness and nature enthusiast. She mountain bikes and fatbikes all year in every season, plays hockey, skis downhill and cross-country skis and a practices yoga. She particularly enjoys the challenge of technical features like rock gardens, bridges, rock rolls and tight flowy single track and loves to help other riders to build skills to conquer tough trails. A native of Prescott-Russell close to Larose Forest, she is a proud “Franco-Ontarienne” and provides instruction in English and French. Inspiring children, girls and women to have fun and embrace sport is one of her goals as an instructor and she believes personal success in sport can be very empowering for everyone.
Founder & PMBIA Certified Instructor
With over 30 years of mountain bike riding under his jersey, Mike has been around long enough to remember the times before front shocks and clipless mountain bike pedals. A native of Ottawa-Gatineau, he’s been riding the local trails all his life and has travelled across North America to many riding destinations. Riding the Utah desert is his favorite place to be. He rides 12 months a year, fatbiking, bike packing and gravel riding if the trails are closed. A contract instructor at Carleton University for over a decade, he’s funny and energetic and loves to see others improve. He’s a dedicated volunteer for the local Mountain Bike Association and logs hundreds of rides every season.
